Motivation / Abstract
Safety, as the most important concern in civil aviation, needs to be maintained at an acceptable level at all times in the air transportation system. This talk will present the application of big data analytics and deep learning models to increase en-route flight safety, where model prediction uncertainty is characterized following a Bayesian approach. This talk will be of interest to data science practitioners interested in the aerospace domain, aircraft safety professionals, maintenance professionals looking to leverage deep learning, and aeronautics enthusiasts.
