Participated in public demo 2607 with Virada - AI Coach

August 21, 2026

The problem [00:00:00] Dana frames the problem as rumination, getting stuck on the same thought over and over, at 2am or in the shower, no closer to acting on it. People in that loop reach for their phone, ask ChatGPT for generic advice that doesn't fit, phone a friend who doesn't live inside the situation, or price out a $200/hour coach on a Tuesday night spiral. In her own discovery survey, 92% had no coach and 77% said they'd like to try something like Virada. What they built [00:02:40] Virada is a conversational AI coach that only ever asks questions, one at a time, and is designed never to give advice or answers, deliberately the opposite of how tools like ChatGPT work. At the end of a session the user writes their own goal in their own words rather than having the AI write it for them, since research shows people follow through on self-written goals far more often even when an AI's version reads better. What happened [00:04:45] In this cohort Dana built the follow-up loop: a week after a session, Virada opens by asking what the user noticed about their goal (not whether they did it), captured in the user's own words as a record of follow-through. She also built a session replay view and a personal dashboard showing open items across past coaching sessions, closing the accountability loop without her in the room. The ask [00:06:15] Dana is opening Virada to a small group of testers next month and specifically wants "ruminators", people with a persistent stuck thought, to try it and give feedback.
